It's been a long time.... once again.

Hi everyone
It's been a long time since I've written a blog. So I'll use this chance (since the internet is not AS scary) to write a blog of what I've done since my last post.

So basically, since then, I've started a new 365 project, which I have various themes according to the month. So far, I have partial black & whites, special lighting/long exposure and the sky/clouds. Up to now, I have sort of found that the special lighting and the sky is most interesting. At one point, I was going to give up on the first month. It was so bad. I'm now considering to do partial black and whites again for another month. Just not now, because I haven't really prepared my ideas for that theme yet.

So any ideas on what ideas I should do next? I was thinking of a macro theme. OK, let me try and put a voting poll later. I absolutely don't know how to do so yet.

Anyhows, I think I'm getting tired, and I will upload photos tomorrow (definately)

[Studio work] (Food Photography) {More Panoramas}

Hello
It's been a while since I've blogged. Yea, I admit. I'm just lazy sometimes.

But don't worry, since then, I've found some more new ideas on how I can improve my photo skills. I've tried doing some more food photography, studio-like work and some more sunset panoramas.

Actually, I've been more into food photography and panoramas, than the studio work. It's mainly because I haven't really put much work into setting up the correct lighting, and finding out the use of light indoors. But at the moment I'm working myself into making a light tent which would move my studio work weakness away.

Anyway, I will be posting the photos tomorrow.

*UPDATE 1*-- Photos. Sorry for the late postings. To repay this, I will post up my new photos including my planned uploads.

Work, Work, Work, then....... PLAY!!

Hello all
Sorry for not posting frequently. It's just that I'm so busy with work, and yea, it's getting on my nerves. But never-the-less, I've still got the 365 project up and running (57 days to go from now!~) So basically, I've been working. So yea, I haven't been... posting... really.
But don't worry, I've still taken some pretty good pictures, and of course some disgusting pictures, that even I don't know why they tuned out so bad!~ That's pretty sad. *Cries*. But yea, within the month of July, I have found some (not much, but some) new techniques. I've still kept up my partial black and whites, but after reading some more of my magazines, I've found that I can do more with PhotoShop CS4 (Yea, apparently). So far, I've taken a few more studio-like pictures. I've done some overlays (not spectacular as what I thought it was), motion pictures (at a friends' birthday party [iceskating!~ no, I didn't fall. It was just a near-miss]) and some panoramics!
Ahh, panoramics. They are so cool! At first, I thought panoramics was easy to do (well, that's because I never did it properly), but it isn't as easy as what it looks like. At first, I thought I could just take a whole picture, full frame, and then just trim off what I don't want. But no, that didn't turn out good, and it was actually much smaller than what a proper panoramic is supposed to be. By previous versions of panoramic was like a 1000x2000 (estimate pixel size), but now, it's much bigger. It's now about 2000x3000 (estimate pixel size [I can't be bothered to look it up]). So basically, this time I used PhotoShop (yep, I'm making good use of my software), and I merged the 3 pictures together. That's the easiest way I could do it (from reference off a magazine). But yea, there are plenty of other ways such as stitching (yea, like stitching a blanket together). But if you don't do it good, you could end up with lines running down the picture.
Anyways, got to go, and I'm going to upload pictures later. I have actually used up 80% of the data allowance!

Lomography~~

Hello
What is lomography? From my perspective, lomography is this type of camera which takes some awkward types of photography. There are fisheye photos, panoramic photos, etc. and they are all discoloured and a bit on the fuzzy end of photography.
So basically, I got myself into discolouring my photos and trying to make the "lomo" effect on my normal pictures. They turned out good, and they were looking towards the effect. The only complicated part was when you had to select the part you want to outline the focus point. Hence, this is not as simple as the partial black and whites!!
Here you go... some pictures. Enjoy ;)

Bounce Flash~~

Hello once again!
Today i found some really exciting additions to my camera... And it's a piece of foil!! Yep, a piece of foil. I sort of searched it somewhere, and apparently, when trying to bounce flash from a in-camera flash, you can use foil. Well, using the glossy side would be good. So basically, you jut angle the piece of foil into the cameras flash, and you would be trying to reflect the flash, onto somewhere else (like a ceiling or wall) and put it back into the subject. It takes time to make the angle to correct, because at first, when I did mine, I just held my foil in place, and just shot the picture. But later on, I sort of went lazy, and I wanted to just attach the foil onto the flash, so I could just shoot the photos and not worry about the foil. And I did it, using some wire. Just poked a hole onto the foil, and hooked it onto my flash. So basically, now, I can take it off, and put it back on when I need it!
Here's some pictures. Enjoy ;) Yep, it's taken with my Casio..

Partial Black and White~~

Hello Everybody!
Yep, it's blogging time once again. Now, you can go and guess what my new interest and obsession is about this time. Let's give you a hint. It's this blogs title! Yep, it's partial black and white. Pretty cool eh? For those who does not know what is partial black and white is, it is a black and white picture, with the main focus points (or the stuff the photographer wants the viewer to be focused on) in colour!
Also, lately, I have went to a table tennis competition, and I was shooting for them for the day. This was really fun and challenging. Actually, it was extremely challenging because, the game was played inside a shopping centre, where there was low light and fast actions. Before the game, I was tossing around about whether I should bring my lousy tripod, but luckily, I made the decision to bring my tripod, and it was a very good choice to do so! Because, it was shot in low light, I had to use a tripod so I can allow myself to do some slow shutter speed shots. Even thought some shots were done in slow shutter speeds, there was enough light, but the shots were blurry because the players were doing some fast action. So even though I got some nice "action" shots, I also wanted some sharp, non-blurry shots. So this got me to use a higher shutter speed and a higher ISO speed. I know, I know, using a higher ISO speed causes noise? Yep, I know that. For the whole day, the highest ISO I used was up to 800ISO. Even though this is just a low ISO speed, it did get some noise in it, causing me to edit it, and make it all smooth again. I guess it wasn't impossible, it was just 10x harder than using 200ISO. So I guess I need some more practice sometime later in the year.
So far, until this point, I have a few needs and wants in my life. These are *drum rolls*: Buy new zoom lens and fish eye lens (Yea, I know, it's not a need, its a want), get some fireworks, fast action shots and landscape portraits done. Actually I want to do a long panoramic view shot as well. But last of all (Yes, this one is a need, a definite need as well), is to earn more money, and so I can spend on my needs and wants. Hehe.
Anyway, It's photo time!! Enjoy.

Morning Walks~

Hi people!~
Recently, I have been really busy on my studies, and yea, making me leave this blog for a while. Sorry for that, well really for anyone who reads this.
So yea, in this period of time I have created a new habit. And this is *drumroll*... Taking a morning walk! Yep, waking up at 6.45, getting out by 7, and walking for an hour or so. Sounds pretty lame and makes people ask, "Why would you want to wake up THAT early for?" Well, to put it straight, I have been gaining some useless kilos, and also, my doctor has suggested me to breathe more cleaner air into my lungs so I can minimize the sneezing in the season of Spring. That's a good reason, right?
So yea, when I went for my first walk, I went and took some hilly walk, just to walk up and down, and move my muscles. But sadly, the first time, I forgot to bring my camera!! I only had my phone with me, and yea, you know my expectations of photos. They got to have sufficient lighting and good composition. Yea, composition is not a problem, but the colours were so OFF!!

Food Photography~~

Hey guys!
I'm not a very good blogger, but I do try and find my chances to put in some of my experiences on to photos and blogging! So yea, I do hope I can find more time to do this, rather than just posting on Facebook and Twitter.
Well, these days I haven't been touching on Light Painting much, but nevertheless, I have been in my 365 doing more food photography. Yes, food photography is hard to excel in, but the more practice, the better I will be!~ This is the times when your family members are just saying, "Woman, this is just a bowl of noodles, there's nothing special about this! We eat this all the time!" Yea, you got to stick up with comments like these, most of the time.
Anyway, I'm pretty busy at the moment (yea, doing like, TONNES of assignments) and I will blog again later! So please excuse me, and enjoy the photos!

Let There Be LIGHT! *raises hands on the unlit candles*

Heyas!
Well, it's been a while (5 days ago) since I posted a blog. Well, nothing has happened much, but I have surely been taking lots of photos! Well, on my first blog here, I have a red rose (right?). Now, I had just been borrowing lots of roses (only 2 really, what an exaggeration!), one red and one black. The red one always looked better, but this time, I used the black one in a different way! Normally, people just took normal portraits of flowers in a vase or alone. But this time I sort of made it a bit glowy and dreamy. I reckon it turned out pretty good, but as it was my first go at doing this, I'm pretty sure I can find ways to improve it!
Here are some photos. And until next time!

LightPainting session

Hello,
Today I had some light paintings done. For the last few times, I used a torch and there were very few imaginative ways of painting. But today, I went to the hops to try and find some cellophane, but instead of finding cellophane, I found some glow sticks! They sounded fantastic. I remembered that previously I saw some other light painters and they made some really good pictures out of glow sticks. So, the I tried it out to see if it was really that good, or did they photoshop the whole thing. So I tired and honestly, the outcome didn't turn out exactly great. The light was soft, it was concentrated light. OMG, it was just a waste of time, effort and most importantly MONEY! They costed me $2 each! One green, orange and pink. But in some picture they did turn out pretty good. I mean as in not aiming for some perfect pictures, but juts swinging the glow stick in circles, doing some twists, yea, that's about how GOOD it can turn out. There are some pictures below to show how I went. These were the "not-so-bad" pictures.
Anyway, got to go now. Blog again sometime!

My very first artful photoshoot

Hey guys!
For once in my life, I have actually put art into my photo shoot of the day. This sort of means that I did a couple of shots of pictures without any people, and yet it turned out pretty good. That's so good because, I used to think art was a waste of time and I would die before I get famous. Well, I guess, as long as I'm not trying to make money out of non-human pictures, then I'm fine.

Anyway, I hope I soon know how to add pictures to blogs. That's going to happen sooner or later, I guess and hope.
Bye for now!~
